MASS PICKET AT CARIB TOMORROW

Fed up with scabs going in to do their jobs, Carib workers are planning a mass picket tomorrow (27th May) in an attempt to stop scab labour entering the plant.

Workers will be assembling at 5.30 am as the busses carrying scabs arrive at approximately 6 am.

Carle St. Rose, President of the Carib Section of the NUGFW, said:

“We are determined to peacefully stop the scab labour tomorrow. We have workers jobs on the line here and this is a serious situation. These scabs are making the situation worse and they should stay away. We want the media present in large numbers to witness the event so that they can see we will be using our numbers and not violence to stop these scabs.”

The Unions leadership has emphasised the peaceful nature of the plans but have also expressed their strength of feeling that scab labour has to be stopped.
