Want to know about joining the union? Thank you for making an enquiry about joining the National Union of Government and Federated Workers. The NUGFW is the largest and one of the oldest trade unions in Trinidad and Tobago. We are the recognised union for government daily paid workers as well as a range of private sector employers.
Who can join the NUGFW? The only restriction on our willingness to take members is if you are working where there is already a recognised union. The NUGFW is affiliated to the National Trade Union Centre (NATUC) and in order to ensure trade union unity, we will not take members from another union. If you are not sure of how to contact any union that already organises your workplace write to us and we will try and help. How do I join? Working at a non-union
employer? If you want help in organising your workplace write to us giving a way to contact you. We always take care when organising a new workplace and would not contact you at work. AND WE NEVER COMMUNICATE WITH THE EMPLOYER until we have enough members to provide the security and protection necessary. Contacting the NUGFW is safe, secure and confidential.
